Hi Marie,

It's great you want to include squats in your workout, the pay off from this exercise along is really tremendous.

I would actually recommend holding two of the dial 'em up free weights right on top of your shoulders if you could rather than holding it at the chest. If you hold it right in front of your chest you will alter your balance ability quite a bit whereas if they are directly on top of the shoulder (being held there by your hands) they will apply a directly downward force and make the movement much easier to complete.
